At the Faculty of Psychology at UniDistance Suisse, we are seeking applicants for:
Two open Postdoc positions – cognitive psychology (100%)
The advertised positions are part of the team of Prof. Dr. Nicolas Rothen at UniDistance Suisse. The teaching of the group is mainly related to learning & memory, experimental methods, and scientific writing. The research of the group is mainly concerned with the foundations of enhanced memory performance (e.g., how visual perceptual abilities relate to memory performance), such as in the case of synesthesia, expertise, and other variations in non-clinical special populations. Place of work: Brig (Valais, Switzerland; 2 days home office per week possible)
Place of residence: Switzerland or willingness to move
Start of work: August 2024, earlier starting dates are also possible
Your tasks :
- Independent teaching (in German) of a module per calendar year in a distance learning setting (e.g., learning & memory, experimental practice, behavioral approaches to cognitive psychology, scientific writing)
- Creation of online teaching materials (in German)
- Programming and implementation of lab- and online-based studies
- Data analysis based on state-of-the-art and advanced statistical methods (e.g., computational modeling)
- Publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presentations at national and international scientific conferences
Your profile :
- PhD in Psychology or another field related to cognitive psychology
- Profound interest in cognitive psychology, especially in the field of memory
- Profound interest in teaching online courses
- You enjoy programming experimental tasks, especially for online data acquisition
- You enjoy programming scripts for the purpose of data analysis (preferably in R)
- You enjoy communicating scientific findings
- Fluent in German (writing and speaking)
- Very good English language skills
- You are able to work independently and on your own responsibility, and you enjoy working in a team
- Interest in transparent and open science
