Mental Effort and Load–Translingual Scale

MEL-TS addresses a key measurement problem in international educational research: learners across languages may not interpret “mental effort” and “mental load” in the same way. The project develops and validates translingual items that distinguish intentionally invested mental effort from passively experienced mental load in self-regulated learning. By combining multilingual item development and validation, MEL-TS supports more comparable research across languages and cultural contexts.
