The advent of new information and communication technologies within families, particularly the smartphone, has profoundly changed the ways in which parents and adolescents interact. The purpose of this systematic review is to examine how 12- to 29-year-olds and their parents interact through these technologies and what the associations are with youth outcomes in terms of internalizing and externalizing problems and well-being. After conducting a detailed and broad literature search, the identified studies will be screened and the necessary data extracted will be synthesized to summarize the included studies.
